Introduction to Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)

NLP has been described as giving you a "users guide to your brain!"

It was developed in the 1970s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder and has grown in popularity ever since. They studied people that were excellent in their field to find out how they got the amazing results they produced. Using the same techniques, Bandler and Grinder found that they could achieve the same results as the people they studied!

This led to the development of a series of techniques that are now available to help you change anything in your life for the better.

NLP helps you take control of your mind and emotions Recently, on the TV show "This Morning" Paul McKenna has helped clients overcome fears and phobias using a combination of NLP, Hypnotherapy and Thought Field Therapy. The techniques are also available to you.

NLP can also be used to:

  • Overcome Fears and Phobias
  • Become and Maintain a Healthy Weight
  • Enjoy Social Events
  • Enhance Personal Development
  • Get More Motivation
  • Boost Confidence, Memory and Concentration
  • Speak Confidently in Public
  • Manage Stress
  • Improve Performance at Work
  • Become More Successful
  • Improve Performance in your Sport
  • Enhance Creativity
  • Overcoming Grief or Guilt
  • Enhance your Health
  • Improve Relationships with Others

And the list goes on and on and on!

What is involved in a NLP programme?

In NLP we are most interested in the way people think and communicate. Information is represented inside our brains as pictures, sounds and feelings. These pictures, sounds and feelings, or internal representations as we call them, hold the key to our behaviour, how we think about ourselves, and what is going on in our lives. By changing the internal representations we change our behaviour and how we both think and feel about things going on in our life.

NLP is a highly effective approach. It can be used alone or in conjunction with other approaches for example Hypnotherapy and Emotional Freedom Techniques (see other leaflets or website for more information).

Our aim is to help you reach your goal as quickly and easily as possible. In NLP it doesn’t matter how long you have had a problem or what the causes were. We can work together today to get you closer to all your personal and professional goals.

During the consultation we will discuss your goals, each of the approaches available to us and together come up with a plan that assists you to reach your goals as quickly and easily as possible.

Due to the way that NLP works only a very few appointment are required. For some goals 1 hour sessions are best a week apart. For other goals one longer session is all that is required.
