What is involved in a Reiki session?

The session involves lying or sitting (fully clothed) in a comfortable position with your eyes closed.

As you relax, the Reiki practitioner places her/his hands in specific positions on or above your head and body, so during the session all the body's major organs are covered and the energy system is brought back into balance.

Unlike massage, no pressure is applied, so Reiki is suitable for people recovering from an operation or suffering from conditions such as arthritis.

You can talk during the session if you wish, but it is such a restful experience it is better to just relax and enjoy it!

The Reiki flows from the practitioner's hands onto your body or energy field. Previous clients reported that the practitioner's hands felt hot or cool, some noticed a tingling sensation as the energy flowed.

After the session, you can slowly get up and discuss how you feel.

It is important to drink plenty of water after the session to help the body detoxify.
