Karuna is a Sanskrit word meaning "compassionate action".

Sessions are carried out in the same way as Usui Reiki, but Karuna Reiki^® energy operates at a higher vibrational level. It is a gentle but powerful energy, some say more powerful than Usui Reiki.

The Karuna system of Reiki was developed by William L Rand. Many people report that the energy feels different from Usui Reiki, in that you feel surrounded by it rather than it being channeled through you.
